Assumptive Selling by Jack White

Assumptive Selling

by Jack White

To assume is said to make an a - - out of u and me. While this is true in most cases, being assumptive in selling is an entirely different scenario. I often use the assumptive close with art buyers. I assume they want to own my art when we begin the conversation. The moment the prospect shows real interest, I just assume they would like to take that piece home with them. My next step is to assist them in making their desire a reality. Because of my assumption that they want to own the art, I treat them differently. I don’t sell; I help the client acquire what they want. [...]

An IMPORTANT message to ALL AOM artisans from Lorraine...

PLEASE READ this IMPORTANT message to ALL AOM artisans from Lorraine...

Hello All;

As was scheduled, some of us met at the Gallery on Main yesterday. During that time we decided that we would bring in our wares for Thursday evening at the normal time for our meeting, 6:30. We all seem to have lots more ideas and more to say when we are over there rather than sitting in a board room. This way we can conduct the meeting and get things ready for Saturday.
The studio looks so good, thanks to Paula and Maradee. They have really worked hard and deserve a big pat on the back and a thank you. Also, Gaye and Bob have put in so much time trying to organize us...artists in general are not easy to organize! Thank you both Bob and Gaye.
There is still so much to discuss, some things which were touched on yesterday afternoon. And we really need a voice from everyone so if you are going to be in the Studio and/or the Gallery, we want everyone to be there on Thursday; both so you are able to show your goods in the manner of which you desire and to give us some direction to go by.
We need your input...see you on Thursday evening!
Lorraine Vatcher

Montague - One of the most ambitious revitalization projects in recent years is set to launch on Montague’s Main Street. Beginning this Saturday (16 June), strollers will be able to chat with creative professionals while watching them at work, and admire a renovated street front featuring window displays, banners, and outdoor benches.

A team of stakeholders ranging from landlords and artists, Eastern Prince Edward Island Chamber of Commerce and Montague Town Council, and other interested volunteers have worked on the project for several months, to breathe new life into the town’s attractiveness for residents and visitors. Inspiring the Artisan community to collaborate towards the creation of a new Artisan Co-operative for this region where the Artisan is the passion driving the project in partnership with community support resources.

Highlights of the pilot project include the Main Street Artisans Gallery, a Production Studio featuring local artisans at work producing works or conducting classes, and an Artisan Boutique for those wishing to purchase unique island made treasures, jewellery, sea crafts, oil paintings, nautical photos, quilts and more.
